At Bitz ‘n’ PC’z Ltd, we recognise the importance of social responsibility, whether that is within the environment or within the community in which we live, work or operate.

The prosperity of our business and of the communities within which we operate requires a commitment to the sustainable management of our activities. Our policy is to always offer the best deals and great value to all of our customers whether that be the public or private sector and to work with local community groups to make improvements to the area.

Staff/People

We are committed to the well-being and continual development of our people and to training our workforce, where employees are appreciated, valued and given regular feedback so that each employee has a clear understanding of their role and how they contribute to the business.

We operate a meritocracy, where all employees are recognised and rewarded on the basis of their performance, effort, contribution and achievements.

We expect our employees to act with integrity towards one another and exercise a high standard of business practice and workmanship.

We support diversity, fairness and equal opportunities and aim to involve and consult regularly with employees as to the direction of the business.

Customers

We aim to build long term relationships with all our customers and other stakeholders by understanding their objectives as they evolve over time and meeting their needs.
We aim to give fair value, consistent quality and reliability.

We aim to have the highest professional and ethical standards and will be honest, open and transparent in all our dealings with customers.

Suppliers

We aim to create and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
We aim to choose suppliers that share our ethos in relation to employment practices, quality and environmental controls. This will be communicated to all suppliers and potential suppliers.

Health & Safety

We aim to achieve and maintain the highest standards of health and safety and provide a safe and healthy working environment for all our activities.
We have a current and effective written health and safety policy that is regularly reviewed and updated.

Environment

We have implemented an environmental policy appropriate to our business.
We are aware of our environmental impact as a business and have taken and continue to take appropriate steps to mitigate that impact, including setting environmental objectives and targets, implementing procedures and providing training so employees and contractors understand their environmental responsibilities and can seek to improve our environmental performance.

The Community

We recognise and understand the significance of the local community within which we operate. We aim to enhance our contribution to the community by being sensitive to the needs of local people and groups and promoting ethical and socially responsible trading. We actively support Monkey Park CIC in Brampton – Kevin was responsible for organising a project that saw all of the heating and hot water systems replaced at Monkey Park under the #HeroesOfHeat initiative.  The project brought together a team of engineers from across the country to install a new boiler, pipework and radiators donated by Viessmann, Plumbase, Spirotech and many others.

Building Community Planters

Friends of Monkey Park

Kevin is the Chair of the Friends of Monkey Park and led the redevelopment of the park and play area.  The group successfully raised funds to replace the old and dangerous play area with a modern facility that families across the area are loving.  The group have also installed three benches, two picnic tables and have created planters in the entrance to provide a positive welcome.

Friends of Badger Park, Friends of Brushfield Park and Friends of Stanford Way Play Park

Following the success of the Friends of Monkey Park, Kevin helped launch the Friends of Badger Park, Friends of Brushfield Park and Friends of Stanford Way Play Park to replace three further play areas in Chesterfield. Kevin has been advising the groups on fundraising, working with the council and applying for grants.

Table Tennis in the park

The latest project was to add a table tennis table to the park and this was installed at the end of 2021. Kevin successfully applied to Chesterfield Borough Council for a £5000 grant from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

We are Dementia Friendly

Dementia Friends help people living with dementia by taking actions – both big and small.

These actions don’t have to be time-consuming. From visiting someone you know with dementia to being more patient in a shop queue, every action counts! Dementia Friends can also get involved with things like volunteering, campaigning or wearing a badge to raise awareness.
