Keeping your browser up to date is important for several reasons:
- It helps to protect you from security vulnerabilities
- It can improve the performance of your browser
- It can give you access to new features and improvements

How to update your browser
Chrome Browser
- Open Chrome.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the window.
- Select “Help” and then “About Google Chrome.”
- If there is an update available, Chrome will automatically start downloading it.
- Once the update is complete, restart Chrome for the update to take effect.
Edge Browser
- Open Edge.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the window.
- Select “Help and feedback” and then “About Microsoft Edge.”
- If there is an update available, Edge will automatically start downloading it.
- Once the update is complete, restart Edge for the update to take effect.
Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- Click the three lines in the top right corner of the window.
- Select “Help” and then “About Firefox.”
- If there is an update available, Firefox will automatically start downloading it.
- Once the update is complete, restart Firefox for the update to take effect.
Safari
- Open Safari.
- Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the window.
- Select “System Preferences.”
- Click “Software Updates.”
- If there is an update available for Safari, it will be listed here.
- Click “Update” to install the update.
- Once the update is complete, restart Safari for the update to take effect.
Chrome on Android
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select “Manage apps and devices.”
- Under “Updates available,” find Chrome.
- If it doesn’t appear, you already have the latest version.
- Tap Update.
- Chrome will now update to the latest version.
Safari on iPhones / iPads
You cannot update Safari from the App Store. If there is an update for the browser, even if it’s a small one, it will be delivered via an iOS update. To check for updates:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If there is an update available, tap Download and Install.
- Restart your device to install the update.
